Fight with my brakes

I ve always considered myself a bit mechanically and engineeringly challenged but i ve been doing my best to learn about my bike and taking problems as they come. So having swapped on 2 new conti tyres earlier i later noticed by back break was touching off my wheel.

i tried centering the pads but it kept springing off to the side. A quick google and watch of this http://bicycletutor.com/sidepull-caliper-brakes/, and i ve tightened up the pivot adjustment from the back. the pad now moves as i move it - not springy from side to side.

anyway when i close the quick release lever fully the pad still touches the wheel slightly put only on a small part of one wheel rotation. So my wheel obviously seems slightly buckled (only very)

    so 2 questions:

    1. is it okat to cycle and use the brakes with the quick release lever partly open?

    2. will it be necessary to fix the wheel? or can the lbs fix up the brakes better than me so that it wont touch the wheel? (maybe i ve something too tight and hence the brake pads are touching the wheel)

I plan on bringing it to lbs tomorrow afternoon but hoping to get by for club spin in morning

Sounds like it would be a five minute fix if you could get into a shop before heading out tomorrow morning

yeah its ok to leave your brake QR open a little. Just get the wheel straightened and you should be able to centre them again.
