Wirquin JollyFlush Flush Pipe?

    Hey all,
I have just finished breaking my second Wirquin jollyflush flush pipe!
Does anyone have any experience with these?
For some reason the B&Q toilets we bought come with a 2" flush pipe thats in two pieces. You need to cut both pieces (2" at cistern reducing to 1.5" at pan)
Its has a ridiculous O-ring connection thats impossible to connect without breaking the female part of the pipe.
I tried fairy liquid, soap, WD40 and plastic/rubber lubricant and it was still impossible to connect by hand...eventually cracking around the collar of the socket...

Is it just me or are these a bad design? When trying to source a replacement the last time nowhere stocked them so I ended up getting a 2" - 1.5" reducer and then a rubber flange to connect the two. This time Im going to get a proper 1.5" flush system and be done with it.

    /end rant.

Ok so I bought a new flush mechanism, but now I have no way of attaching the flush pipe to the cistern.
The flush pipe and siphon are 1.5" but the original nut is 2".
I'm assuming these are some sort of standard that I can pick up anywhere?

    Little help?

I'm looking for the nut & washer that secures the standard 1.5" flush pipe on a loosely coupled toilet?
The ones that came with the cistern were 2".

    Greenbo.

You have bought the wrong parts for the wrong thing. This is my guess.

What you needed was the flush pipe kit for a low level toilet which consists of 1 of 2 flush pipes nut, washer and bung.

this is the kit that brings water from the cistern to the toilet.

What you got was a wirquin flexi pipe. this is usually for just carrying water in the pipe size it comes in.

This is how i read it...Am i right.

    Not really.

The (wirquin) cistern came with the toilet and had a 2" outlet to the flush pipe.
The flush pipe was in 2 pieces, push fit with an o-ring. The horizontal part of the flush pipe reduced down to 1.5" to connect to the pan.

The design of this flush pipe is crap, two have broken so far just using hand pressure to try to connect.
I bought a replacement flush mechanism (wirquin 1.5") and a 1.5" flush pipe, but the kit didnt come with anything to secure the flush pipe to the flush mechanism. It just has a back nut to secure it to the cistern and then you are on your own. It looks like it can only work with a tightly-coupled cistern as it came with a rubber pan washer. Should the missing piece have come with the flush pipe or the flush mechanism? Looking at the wirquin site, all of their flush pipes come with this magical nut :(

So I need something to attach the flush pipe to the end of the flush mechanism that extends out of the cistern.

    Make sense?

    Thx!

Cant understand the trouble though. Did you have the cistern screwed to the wall. I only fit a couple of these but they were bullit proof. Will look on the wirquin site and get back to you later.

So the problem is that neither the flush mechanism nor the flush pipe came with any means to attach them to each other.

I have a nut to secure the flush mechanism to the cistern but nothing to attach the flush pipe to the cistern/flush mechanism. So Im missing an olive and a nut for the flush pipe I guess?

Just looked this up, The outlet pipe should be solid. I actually remember it being solid and actually if you think of it if its not solid then how will it remain fixed when you stud it in.

I am attaching a link to what I think yours is...Am i correct.

    http://www.wirquin.com/pro-gb-produits.html

yours should be the jolly tank... half way down the page...

    yep thats it alright.
The supplied rigid comes in 2 pieces, you trim for height and length and then connect, but the connection broke.

I got a replacement wirquin flush mechanism as I was unable to source a 2" flush pipe anywhere.

So I now I have a wirquin flush mechanism and a 1.5" rigid, 1-piece standard flush pipe but no way to connect the two.

Your best bet now would be to souce a low level flush pipe kit. It works out cheaper. More dependable and it will have all the necessary parts to connect to the cistern...with a bit of cutting and raising of the cistern however as the flush cable is adjustable you will be fine...

Either that or buy another pack.

If you have the wirquin flex pipe i am thinking of I would be weary of the seal which is why I could not understand where you were wrong.

Was able to pick up the nut/olive separately in Woodies this am for €2.50 so didnt need to purchase a whole new kit.

Margin too small for anyone else to stock it!
