    Hi,

I was wondering if it was possible to permanently disable bluetooth in the 5 series BMW?

Disconnect your phone. Depending on which one you have just delete the pairing should be the option

Never really thought about this, can bluetooth enabled cars "see" each other?

It will always be on unless there's a fuse or wire to pull. You don't have to connect to it. Unless you can do a search with the car itself it's only a one way connection

just dont pair a phone with it, its on the radio fuse so no use there, short of actually disconnecting the bluetooth antenna inside the car theres not much you can do

probably a silly question, but why would you want it disconnected?

there is an option in settings to turn off the bluetooth, if not then get the latest software update.
