JSA interview after 2 months?

    Hi all,

I've been receiving JSA for two months (1 month of which was backdated). Received a letter from SW today calling me in for an interview next week.. does that seem a little soon, or is it standard? Technically my application was only approved 4-5 weeks ago. Should I bring all evidence of job applications and notices?

One other thing: Would my girlfriend's job income affect my JSA if we are not co-habiting? Up to now, I chose not to disclose my relationship to the SW office, as our financial affairs are separate and we don't currently live together. I presume I'm correct in this?

Correct if your not living with your girlfriend then what she earns is none of their business
Bring whatever you have regarding jobs applied for if you havent supplied a bank statement for the last three months they usually ask for that too and proof of rent being paid again if you havent given that in already 2 mths does seem a bit soon however tiz nice to see the public sector being efficient :D

Cheers for that info edellc, one other thing: Are the infamous dole queues an occurrence on signing days? My one is coming up on Tuesday, I'd be mortified standing in the street for ages...

Just got back from the interview now, the inspector made it pretty nerve wracking for me. 'Interrogation' style room, bright lights etc, lol. I must have been in there for almost half an hour. I was asked every single thing relating to my personal business, and particularly relating to my relationship. Everything had to be elaborated on. Very sombre tone, the inspector refused to even look at me.

In addition, I was told that inspectors will drop over unannounced to verify my address and so forth. Apparently, its 'not like years ago, when you can make a claim and be left alone for months.' I feel under such a compliment to them. Am I supposed to stay home all day on the weekdays now? And despite the fact I'm still living at home (for financial reasons) I do spend time with my girlfriend at her address also, so does that make me a criminal?
