I can't seem to find out what this means?!! Nothing in the car manual and nothing on any websites I've searched!! It's a Yellow square box with a wave going through it, with a cap on the rightside

it comes on intermittingly, it has only just started tobhappen!

Does anyone know what it is? And how serious is it?

    BMW 318ci 2002

    thanks
    Bobby

Either that or your flux capacitor is gone.

Wait its a BMW right? its clearly the indicator fluid level,so many BMW drivers just ignore this warning light and never top up their indicator fluid :D

    *I love automobile stereotypes

Seriously though, its definitely a fluid level, have a look at your levels under the bonnet, what ever it is its not too serious though as its orange not red,so i doubt its coolant.

Just got coolant/anti-freeze in Halfords yesterday. I wasn't sure what type to get, so i picked up the Pink/orangey colored one, your man in Halfords said that he thinks the BMW 318ci 02 uses the Pink coolant, he wasn't sure.

I'm not sure myself to be honest, i think i remember putting Pink coolant/anti-freeze in before.

I take it doesn't matter what brand it is as long as it is Pink

Can anyone confirm if the pink one is the one to use?

You might want to investigate the coolant loss, you shouldn't need to top up coolant.

Haven't put in Coolant in for the last year or so. So might fill up and see how it does if it comes back up then i have a leak!!!

Do you know if its the Pink coolant i use?

I think pink coolant is for MX-5's and Micras!

    BMW's will therefore need blue!

...actually, I think BMW's use an ethylene glycol based coolant, which is usually bluey/green. Usually not best to mix coolant types, but you'd probably get away with your pink stuff if you do a full drain.
