My son is sitting the junior cert and I just had a look there at examinations.ie to see the HL English papers from Wednesday. Perhaps I'm missing something - it's a long time since I was in school! He studied 'Of Mice and Men' and 'Romeo and Juliet' - am I missing something because I'm not seeing any reference to either of those two on the English Paper 2 Higher Level exam? I'm confused!

Hi there :) Well in the junior cert, each teacher picks the studied texts. In your son's case Romeo and Juliet and of mice and men (i did the merchant of venice and to kill a mockingbird).

Then in the exam papers, if you look at the questions after the unseen play and text, you'll see a question for studied play and text (choose between 2 questions). You then answer one of these questions on the play you have studied for one question and the text you have studied for the other :)

Hope that was clear enough. Take another look at the exam paper and see if you can see it now.

The questions are usually general enough to accomodate all the different texts studied btw :)
