Hi, long time lurker of boards, first post today so here goes.

Looking for a bit of assistance please, Have a topfield free to air box in the kitchen for a couple of years and since last weekend, the picture on all the free to air channels have been scrambled, i've re-scanned a couple of times and no joy, I've sky + in the sitting room and this is fine, even when I take out the card all the free to air channels are coming up fine on that tv, both boxes are linked to the one dish. Any bit of advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Nellers

    Can you be more specific.

You say the picture is scrambled. If its FTA that does not make sense. What do you see on the screen (is it blank for instance)?

Try to rule out some possible problems.

Try the topfield box using the cable connected to the sky box in case the cable in the kitchen has failed.

It says there's no signal, but you can just make out the logo in the top corner for example on the bbc news programme but the rest of the screen is fuzzy, it's like it needs tuning in. When I rescanned it wouldn't pick up the free to air channels on the Astra 2 satellite, just Astra12345 for example with fuzzy pictures.

Hi, just done a bit of swapping and changing, it's the cable running from the dish that's knackered, so a bit of work to do tomorrow, thanks for the reply.

I've been having reception problems on the Astra for two days now. It's odd, only the BBC, and some of the others like Euronews and Film 4 have dropped out, but not ITV, etc. The signal strength goes on these channels, but not others. It is intermittent as well. I was wondering about the cable, too, but also thought it might be foliage growth on the hill above us? I'm not very tekkie - does anyone know what these symptoms suggest?
