Went to CWO but still waiting for SWA

    If anyone could help me with this is would be great. Applied for JSA and was told the wait was 6weeks or more in Limerick (I am already on the system from last year if that makes any difference.) I'm totally broke so I went to see the CWO to apply for supplementary welfare allowance. The lady there said that everything was in order but kept my bank statement to photocopy it as she was very busy and said she would post it back to me. That was over a week ago and I still haven't head anything from them. She said I would hear with a phonecall or a letter. I'm getting a bit worried now that I still haven't heard anything and that my application haas been lost or something as last year, I went to the CWO on a Thursday and received money the following Monday. Does anyone know if my wait is longer than average or if I should start to worry?

    If you went on thursday and got money on monday then thats good going really.....what happens is the CWO will send you out a cheque each week or pay into post office until the welfare office sorts out your claim...i know my OH applied in Feb and Bishop Street didnt sort it out until May he was getting paid by CWO that long bad form really...if you do feel like they might loose your information why dont you ring them takes a few goes to get through but if it puts your mind at rest :)
    If you want your bank statement back then pay your CWO a visit and ask for it back she should have photocopied it there and then and given it back to you
