Berating wrongdoers is tedious

I've been reading through many recent threads where drivers have owned up to being stopped without tax or insurance & are honestly looking for advice.

What sickens me is the amount of Helen Lovejoys on here who can't wait to scold the OP for their wrong doing.
"I hope they throw the book at you"
    "I've no sympathy"
"Car crushed, €1,000 fine & prison"
This post is usually followed by 10 Thank You's from the rest of the sewing circle.

Outside of professional legal advice this place can be the best resource to someone facing legal action.
I believe that fear of berating stops people from posting & in turn reduces the truthfulness of those brave enough to start a thread.
There are other forums, e.g. Smoking, where someone is warned for stating the obvious about the dangers.

Could there be a sub-forum in Motors where people can explain their situation without expecting the cane.
    Thanks for listening.

Well, they are hardly going to expect a pat on the back when they start a thread about driving without insurance. It depends on the offense really.

There's a forum specifically for new forum requests. It's under the Sys menu

Edit - if you start a thread there, I'll put a link in this thread to it.

    Edit 2:
    Forum request thread is here.
