Hi Wondering if anyone could help me figure out if I can claim back some tax.
I'm on placement earing €8,600 for the 5 months. 23% of my pay is going to tax is that a bit much considering I'm a student?
Anyway I just wanted to know if I am entitled to some of it back before I go ringing the revenue complaining :p
Thanks to anyone who can help !
Oh it says my cut-off point is €3034 and my tax credits are €153.

Assuming you don't earn anything else in the tax year you should be able to recover all of the PAYE you're currently paying. You should also be able to recover the Health levy and income levy. Your local tax office will be able to help with that- it's possible that you may need to wait until December 31, however, for any refund.

You can download my spreadsheet at http://taxcalc.eu/monthlyss to check the calculations to see if the net amount you're getting is accurate based on the gross pay per month.

PM me here or use the e-mail on the spreadsheet itself if you need a hand using it.

Your tax credits look incorrect to me €153 *12=€1836

You should be entitled to a single persons tax credit of €1830 and an PAYE tax credit of €1830 unless your married and your other half is using up some of your credits.

    Hope this helps,
