GIANT Defy 3 versus TREK 1.2

They're similarly specced bikes from major manufacturers aiming at a specific price-point so there's not much to distinguish them. Do you like yellow? You should really try both and buy whichever you feel most comfortable on.

I'd go for the trek, it looks nicer, otherwise they are pretty much the same.

Thanks, I just needed confirmation for myself.

Trek 1.2.... worth upgrading down the line too..... If you are based in Dublin PM me.

    Cheers

I've the trek 1.5 and I'm very happy with it, but my only comparison is a MTB.
I've used it in 2 adventure races, and commute on it every day.
The frame is the same between the 1.2 & 1.5 so you can fit full length mudguards on for commuting which is a god send.
    Nice bike though.

I've a friend looking at selling a lightly used Defy 4. He is a bike mechanic (quite a good one too!) so I can guarantee that it will have been well looked out for. If you are interested let me know and I can send you his email.

Thanks, but I'm doing the cycle to work scheme.

Giant all the way for me, I got a Defy 2, delighted with it!

I think the Trek paint scemes are awful, down to personal preference I suppose?

No opinion on the bikes but you are dealing with one of the best bike shops in the South East (if not the country!). Great friendly service and a pair of Rás mechanic's as well!

What kind of money is he looking for for it do you know? Could be interested at the right price!
