Recommendation for good hand cream

I'm on the look out for a decent hand cream that will help protect my hands, while moisturising them. I work outside in all types of weather quite a lot, and my hands would quite get a bit of hardship, and are relatively weathered as a result; something along the lines of this, but not quite as bad. Thankfully my hands don't crack, so I'm quite lucky, but if somebody could recommend some handcream that would soothe, soften and protect my hands, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

Clarins hand and nail treatment cream is really good, not greasy but very soothing. I have to wash my hands all the time at work and use sterigel which is really drying and I find it great.

Failing that the tried and trusted Neutrogena does the trick but is more rich and a bit too sticky for me.

Elizabeth Arden is the best I have ever used. It is expensive though.

I am currently using the Neutrogena Norwegian Formula and find it great. Although when you put it on it feels greasy/heavy for a few minutes until it is dried in properly, thankfully it doesn't take long for it to dry in.

Neutrogena is fantastic. I've got the clarins and other more expensive ones but neutrogena is the only one that works properly for moisturising.

I recently got a Dove hand cream and its the best Ive ever used. My hands are in and out of water all day every day and used to have really hard skin on them now I use this a few times a day and they are lovely and soft again :D

+1 on the Neutrogena. I use it for when I'm working in a steel fabricators (before putting on a barrier cream and gloves). I use it when out fishing winter nights. I use it when sailing. I use it when playing golf in the sun().
Best all round handcream I've tried, cheap as chips and dosen't suffer too much from the metrosexual image that most mens products do if thats a factor in your thinking.

A good second choice is Nevia who do a mens range of moisturisers. A bit greasier but it will still dry off quickly enough.

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.

Hands down L'occitane hand cream. The shea butter one smells great too.
    It really moisturises the skin.
When i broke my wrist and the cast came off my wrist skin was horribly dry and scally and that hand cream sorted it. It isn't oily at all. It may be dearer than others but a 150 ml tube lasted me 10 months, I kid you not!:)

At the moment I am using Avon's Skin So Soft hand cream. It's the age-defying one. I really like using this one, it goes on quite smooth and dries in nice and quick. It's in a handy tube so you can pop it into your bag. Avon also brought out a Winter edition so when my hands are really dry I use that and it gives that extra bit of protection.

    Thanks for the replies, everyone.

I use Neutrogena comfort balm for my face and find it really good. Had completely forgotten they did a hand cream, even though now that you mention it I remember my mum using it years ago (when it was really hard to get before it became popular!). I'll give it a go and see how I get on. I've heard Clarins is good, too, but I didn't like the feel of it on my hands when I tried it before.

I use the Body Shop 'Hemp Hand Protector', it gives protection, repairs and moisturises - it's great!

L'occitane hand cream is fantastic. I get really dry cracked hands and only started using it recently it is a little expensive but lasts very well.

The neutrogena ones are good too

Don't bother with any of that expensive crap, i can only imagine what clarins hand cream costs now, i used to use the night cream, got it as a present. went to refill it and it was 60 euro-no way like.

unrefined shea butter is what you should be looking for. it's the best handcream, l'occitane makes one, yes but you can also get it online from natural cosmetics retails for like a fiver. it's all i used to use when i was excavating, i didn't like to wear gloves and my hands got very dry/sore from all of the physical work.

oh, and at night leave bucketloads of it, then cover with white cotton gloves.

I use Molton Brown's Nurture Intensive Hand Cream. Bit pricey but I find it brilliant.
The OH has bad allergies that affect his hands and the only thing that works for him is Gloves in a Bottle (if you can get it, its tricky enough to come by). He swears by it.
