VW Bora mixture problem

    Hi folks,

    Trying to sort out a '00 1.6 Bora I'm buying from a friend. Just failed NCT on emissions. At 112k on the clock it passed the last NCT with 0 HC at idle & 120 at speed. This time with 131k it failed with 300 at idle & 600 at speed.

    I'm thinking Lambda sensor, MAF, or engine temperature sensor. All suggestions welcome.

    Also the Lambda is off at 0.75, but what exactly does this reading mean in the NCT?

    Does it use a drop of oil at all ?

    The traditional reply is: "It would if it got it!"

    But no, not to any extent. The bores are fine and it passed the last NCT with flying colours just 20k ago.
