HD Satellite????

Hi I am wondering what is HD satellite. Is it to do with the the satellite box or the satellite Dish?
I have a satellite box and it says on it it is HD ready. But the satellite I have in the house and the satellite box is not HD ready. I was thinking of putting the HD ready box in another room and running a cable out to the satellite dish.
Will it work, or is HD ready through the Dish?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Beng.

The Dish and LNB don't care about HD, Analogue or Digital. It's solely a feature of your Satellite Receiver,

You need an HD TV and HDMI cable to connect Receiver box and TV.

Not everything with HDMI connectors is HD.

Unless your LNB on Dish arm has 4 outlets you may need to change LNB as you can't split a satellite signal ordinarily.

Picked up a HD FTA box in B&Q for €86. Will time shift and record programme your watching.

Also checked the C4,More4,E4,Film4 all in HD nearly same resolution as BBC HD

The only FTA HD channels are BBC HD, ITV HD, ITV1 HD, LUXE-HD & STV-HD.

STV-HD started broadcasting on SKY a couple of days ago, I don't know if it will stay FTA but I imagine it will - http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055935664
