Opinions on which drink to buy as a gift

    Hi guys,
Just looking for your opinions on a drink to buy as a gift for a friend. He is a big sambuca drinker but also likes his whiskey.

I was thinking of buying him a bottle of opal nera. Can anyone recommend getting a black sambuca over regular sambuca or where I could get it?
Or on the whiskey front he would be a fan of Scotch whiskey. Fairly clueless on whiskey  so any recommendations are welcome.

Basically if you are a sambuca and a whiskey lover what would you prefer to get?
    Thanks for the help

Saying he is a scotch fan is a bit vague and not really enough to go on as it really is a masssive category which many different styles. Do you know any distillery/brand he drinks? If you do we can go from there.

However Highland Park would be a good middle of the road scotch that most will enjoy. The 12yo is excellent but if you want to push the boat out go for the 18yo.

Thanks for the reply, seems I was wrong about the scotch. He drinks Midleton.

tesco do an offer on midleton a few times a year.

or.. failing that , pick up a bottle in the distillery its self.. they are cheaper than the main supermarkets
