Dinocroc Vs. Supergator, the sequel we've all waited for

There are films which entice the viewer in with a mysterious title which upon initial glance offers no indication of just what the finished film will entail and then there are films which aren't so much titles but rather the string of words the writers used to pitch the film, Dinocroc Vs. Supergator most certainly belongs in the latter category.

The film looks absolutely dreadfully strangely watchable, the kind of film which you stumble home at 4 in the am in a drunken haze and watch before waking the next morning with no memory of.

It's a syfy original production, being dreadful is a staple of their output. That said a few friends, some cans, a slew of junk food and they can be a lot of fun.

Heheh, I love at how it says "starring David Carradine" and shows him making a face: "Ah Jesus, don't show me!!"

Looks superb, possibly the "Inception Killer" of this year?

Ha, even I've churned out better stuff with After Effects and stock footage :pac:

You get the feeling that Carradine was wishing that he was back working with Larry Cohen on an actual honest to God monster movie.

Heh, strangely the effects seem better in this than Dinocroc Vs. Supergator..........I can never resist the charm of a good ol' stop-animation monster flick.

The film is great fun, it's from B movie God Larry Cohen who wrote Phonebooth and is the king of great premises. The effects are sparingly used with the creature having true presence and used sparingly. I recommend you check out The Stuff, God Told Me To and Bone also.

I have a feeling Dinocroc Versus Supergator will end up on my guilty pleasures list alongside Frankenfish, Boa Vs Python and Shark Attack 3: Megalodon...

Failing that there's always Alien Versus Ninja...

I think that Boa Vs. Python and Frankenfish are unfairly judged as so bad it's good when in fact both films are actually rather good with great effects, high production values, a fun script and all around great performances.

Shark Attack 3 is fun but in a completely different manner, the same manner I believe Dinocroc Vs. Supergator will be. Have Dinoshark on my hard drive to watch. May wait till Sunday and have a super creature feature night in.

Frankenfish was an enjoyable watch, how dare you relegate it to guilty pleasure status. :D

Guilty in the fact that if you listed it in your top five films people would have you commited...

It sits nicely alongside Tremors, Rogue, Dog Soldiers etc in terms of quality in my eyes, as it is a notch above the standard fare that gets trotted out as a creature feature, standard fare to which I am drawn to as well.:D

I don't subscribe to the theory of guilty pleasures, if you enjoy something you should feel no guilt whatsoever. My creature features sit proudly on my shelf for all to see and while people will slag them off it doesn't stop them asking to borrow them 10 minutes later.
