    Hi everyone,

Pretty large group of us want to go skiing just after Christmas and have no real preferences where to!

So i'm wondering has anyone any opinions on where in Europe is good in terms of value for money, lively apres ski and good skiing in general??

If you could suggest countries, great, if you could suggest specific resorts, even better!! especially if anyone has had any experiences with groups in those resorts!!

    Thanks a lot!!

Have you skied before? Are the group beginners or more experienced. A lot of the resorts with huge ski areas are more expensive but you wont' need that if you're beginners.

Austria generally is good value and would have good apres-ski. Some resorts better than others but on the whole pretty good. France can be more expensive, tends to have bigger resorts with more varied skiing but maybe not as lively apres-ski (again some exceptions). Italy is somewhere between the two in my experience.

ya i have skied before, just once but most of the group would be beginners so that's the kind of resort we would be looking for.

    thanks for your comment!

Has to be a catered chalet in Val D'isere, France. Huge ski area for all levels, great apre ski and usually good for snow early season.
