    The background..

As part of my work, I often get to assign $$$ and resources to innovative quick projects which may have either training benefits for staff or financial benefits. One of the areas we are involved in is small form factor devices (iPhone/Blackberry in this particular case), and I was looking for some quick opportunities for some junior developers..

    The question..

You often see the usual shouting of "1" "2" into mic's while engineers tune PA's in a live sound situation.. It works, but its less than specific and I'd imagine certain frequencies can and will be missed..

Do folks here, think an iPhone app which played the frequencies (for example) in a 31 band eq in-sequence would be beneficial? (thinking more of the novice engineer)..
Start at lowest freq.. announce the frequency.. 5 second burst of the frequency... move onto next frequency.. (specific frequencies could also be called up)..

iPhone would obviously be plugged into the desk/PA while the app runs..

    Would anyone use this?

You use pink noise, not a series of tones, for this, with an RTA.
