    Hi all,

Can anyone offer me some advice re: hp batteries?

As of today when I had plugged my laptop in (hp pavilion dv5) there was a symbol located on the battery logo which informed me that 'there is a problem with your battery, so your computer might shut down suddenly'.

I dont know much about this, as it has never happened to me before apart from a few months ago when my HP charger stoped working and had to get a replcement one (universal charger)..

Has this ever happened to anyone before?? I dont know what to do about it or if its serious or not.

Also I have had the laptop for nearly 2 years now so i dont know if this is a contributing factor...

    Cheers

    Futureparamedic

    Download the HP Battery Checker:

I usually leave my laptop plugged in, not using the battery, batteries never last too long :(

2 years sounds about right for battery to give up the ghost, although my acer laptop is only 18mths old and very rarely used on battery and I got the same message.
What os do you use as I believe that win 7 has a battery issue.
My problems only started when I upgraded from vista.
