I'm currently 3 weeks away from completing an improvers half marathon schedule. I've a 10 mile race planned for this Sunday in Longford at 11am but I would also like to run on Saturday evening at a local event (Bohermeen 5K). Only started running last year and was wondering if the evening race will scupper any hope of a decent performance on Sunday. Cheers

Simple answer, yes. two races in two days given the distance of the races would not be advised as performance would suffer and the risk of injury would be greatly increased my advice would be to nail the 5k on th ehead if you are training for a half the strength race will stand to you more

Thanks for that Ecoli. Would've liked to have ran the 5K but the bigger goal is the half in Achill. Good thing I like hills!! Hoping to improve on 1hr48 from last year. Thanks again.
