browsing on a smartphone

What should I expect from my new wifi enabled smartphone as regards browsing on this small screen?
At first glance it looks like I can only fetch up one page at a time.
I mean that it looks to be impossible to follow the links on a page.
Is this par for the course on these phones?
Or does the Touch Screen just take a little getting used to?

Use opera mini for browsing the web it'll give you a lot better experience than the native browser go to "m.opera.com" on your phone to install it.
