Hi, I am thinking of buying a new kia pro_ceed......the 1.6 dsl EX model...like this one.

    http://www.carzone.ie/search/KIA/pro_ceed/**-New-C/201009197146954/advert?channel=CARS

I was wondering what the re-sale value of these will be though? Is it really low in comparison to other cars? If I go to trade in or sell in 2 or 3 yrs time, will i get feck all for it? This is the only thing that is worrying me about buying it. Other than that, i really like the car.

With a 7 year Warranty I would say you would get a Good resale price and It would be Quite easy to sell

Pro Ceed resale values seem to be doing ok and the 7 year warranty is a good bonus on them as long as you are happy to keep to the conditions of that warranty.

If you are really worried about depreciation then buying a new car probably isn't a good idea. Here is a 1 year old one for around €3k less:

or a 2 year old one for €7k less:

Resale values as predicted are actually relatively weak against more established marques I'm hearing. Big difference between asking prices and actual dealing prices btw.

I found this out while looking for a car for my sister in the past number of weeks.

Kia dealers are very eager to talk and do a deal, and used prices are very competitive (07's for under 10k)

Very nice cars but just didn't fit the bill for my sister

Yep, and I agree the cars are not bad at all either generally.

Trouble is much like Fiat historically - buy one and you're stuck with the brand.

buy one and you're stuck with the brand.

As I explained to a friend before he purchased an a large French hatchback with a shady reliability record

The C'eed is a good car but you will have to keep it to compensate for the depreciation.

I rate them very well as a second hand purchase once someone has taken the initial hit
