Free money from Tesco

I went into Tesco the other day and realised I had no cash at all, just cards. I went up to the customer service desk with my palstic thinking the girl would enable me to withdraw €1 on the laser.

Instead she just opened the till and handed me €1.

    IBTL

    Well done,
You've just alerted Tesco to the fact that their employees have the potential to defraud the company.

Why did you want just €1 anyway?

Tesco have a Nigerian Prince now too?

Seriously OP; this ain't a bargain alert. It's a generosity alert that a Tesco staff member looked kindly on you when you were skint.

They assumed their act of generosity would be repaid after you had paid for the items/dropped the trolley back......

and how were you going to get even a quid with just your card, you have to buy something to get cashback
they probably just gave you the quid to get rid of you

    an awful fuss about €1!

I was not asked to bring it back, and to be honest I forgot about it, in any case I doubt I would have walked back from the car park with it.

Its a supermarket, I doubt I was the first person to arrive at the door with no change for a trolley, presumably they would have a standard way of dealing with it.

The obvious way being to give me a token that fits the trolley.
