Library Noise

Noticed some brief discussion on noise in the library. There are several possibilities, personally speaking.

    - There are indeed some really rude people, who don't give a **** what anyone thinks about them sucking on a sports cap bottle like an udder, while you sift through an essay for spelling mistakes.

    - They are noisy, but they don't realise it.

    - I am just oversensitive and should learn to put up with it.

Whats your worst experience with noise in the library and how do you deal with it?

There is one particullar individual I see fairly often, he is old and has large chunky glasses. He often has an earphone in his ear and usually sits at the PC, breathing extremely loudly, exhaling like a bullock and humming to himself. Absolutely shocking. Anyway.

I was working on an essay on the first floor about 2 or so months ago. I was hellbent on getting the essay in early, so I was trying to concentrate on it. And with a severe lack of sleep and a lack of food in me, it was tough. What made it worse was two extremely thick D4 voices VERY LOUDLY talking not 10feet away from me... For a good 20 minutes... It was like someone stabbing my ears with a spoon.

I had this horrible experience where I was talking and instead of asking me to stop (which I would have done) a guy kept quiet, got angry and voiced his anger on a popular Irish internet forum.

A lot less horrible than listening to some lad go on about his variety of fetishes.

My post was meant to be sarcastic...surprised that wasn't obvious.

    The incident NEVER happened.

    Benny... you lied? On Boards?

I've lost faith in the internet.

Once I was in the library, and I saw some guy posting on Boards about how loud the library was. True Story.

Exactly, if they are bothering you, should just tell them to STFU, you can ask them more nicely than this too.
