Mostly city use but would like to use country tracks on occasion.
    comfortable
    sturdy and hard wearing
    budget €700

    Any thoughts? :D

    edit
From reading a previous thread, the Cannondale Bad Boy caught my eye. Anyone who has used one – was the weight much of a factor against it? or was it balanced by it's other attributes? Also, where would I buy one of these in the RoI? I can see any dealers here (only in Belfast).

I know there are very long order and wait times (5-6 weeks in some cases) on their Cannondale road bikes. I'm not sure if that extends to the rest of the range.

They have one with nexus hub gears & a lefty fork - looks savage. But a little over your budget.

I just had a look at lunchtime – it's beautiful *drool*. I'd be very tempted to wait and expand my budget for this. Anyone here have one? Can you tell me if it's hard to maintain? I'm guessing repairs/parts would be very pricey.

The hub gears are supposed to be maintenance free, the most you will need to do is replace the oil after a couple of years & replace the gear cable. The chain & sprocket apparently don't wear quickly either. On the other hand, if you have a malfunction it is allegedly more difficult to repair due to the complexity of the system.

I ride a hub geared bike and love it...
