One of their 'reporters' stated that former PM Margaret Thatcher had died last month.

Had to have a wry smile when I saw her outside no. 10 with Cameron a few days ago!

I was reading the Evening Herald and came across this, what a sick joke. Mod's on UK Indymedia were obviously asleep or didn't give a toss.

AFAIK, the Indymedia mods hid that story from view within minutes of its publication, marking it as "unverified" and therefore not suitable for general consumption as factual news.

(From previous experience, this site doesn't delete uncorroborated stories such as this, 'just in case they turn out to eventually be true'...They just 'hide' them, removing them from public view & making them invisible to searches. This is an action plan that is neither commendable nor unforgivable, but is the best one you're going to get from an internet media outlet, I suppose. )

The story appeared here on Boards fleetingly, but was thankfully removed on the grounds that it was utterly false.

It is frankly disturbing what amuses some people.

In all fairness, he should not be doing the job anymore in his condition.

I mean, every one here has lost a job at some point. I work contracts and they have an end date which you know when you start.

The last week, no real work gets done. Thats normal. No one during their last week is going to take on any large projects. If they do, they will not be putting in 100% as they know they will be gone in a matter of days.

Do we really want a person with this mentality leading our financial recovery right now? If the economy tanks again, he will not be around to hold accountable, and you can bet all of his colleagues will be pointing the finger at him when he is gone, but of course telling people to respect him at the same time by not getting upset about their (his) blunder.

Talk about taking one for the team.

There are only two reasons he is still in that position - first like Harney, no one else wants to be in charge of the train wreck, so he is stuck there. Second, they can use the sympathy vote to keep people from outright attacking him or his policies.

The fact the media tip toes around this is disturbing, almost most as watching Cowan on the news blaming the 'previous' government for the current financial crisis.

    indymedia doesn't have any reporters
it was a malicious troll in both cases misusing indymedia, perhaps even certain News groups creating their own stories as usual, I await the sunday papers
