Seat Ibiza 2003 AUX input

Did a search for this question but couldnt find anything.

I got a 2003 Seat ibiza today with the default Alana head unit, I had a blaupunkt stereo which I wanted to use instead but it seems to be slightly too small (litrally milimeters) and wont lock into the dash.. annoying

My question is anyway how do I get an AUX cable to work with the default stereo for use with an ipod/mp3 player?
The stereo has a cd changer button but no AUX button,
I had used the same cable with the blaupunkt stereo before and it worked perfectly (it had an aux button).
I connected the cable to the same place as I did before with the blaupunkt but nothing happens, only "CHANGER" comes up on the unit nothing else.. any ideas how I get it to work?

    Thanks
