Just a quick question - I'm wondering if any of you guys have some suggestions of decent places for car rental for 21 year olds in London (specifically Luton airport)?

    Cheers....

Compare prices with each company in different territories. For example, you will get different prices from Avis on avis.ie, avis.co.uk, avis.com, avis.de, avis.fr, etc, etc. A couple of years ago I used avis.co.uk to book a rental in France as it was cheaper than the .ie site.

I think I used to have to rent from Budget as they were the only company who would take under 25's - even though I was Hertz staff at the time.

Jesus are you serious? You couldn't swing a car?! By any chance are you still Hertz staff and fancy sorting me out with one?!!

Rules is Rules and even staff had to stick to them.

No longer Hertz staff but do work for the Irish franchise owner for one of the Majors - can't swing anything and I think they have a minimun age of 23 or 25.

is the age limit lower over in england??

i have a rental car at the moment and had to be 25 to get it,

when the cars went up in power and size the age limit went up, to get an mpv you had to be 30!,
i cant see anything on the argus site about a minimum age,

It's generally 25, but some places have the option of a young driver supplement. Usually 10-15 quid a day to cover the extra insurance risk.

A few companies in Ireland have that too.

Try to rent a Prestige car in France! You have to be over 30 and have 2 Gold Credit Cards

I'm not particularly interested in the power of the car just want something to get me and the lads from Luton to Sliverstone and back!

Hertz look to have a 23 limit, Argus 21.
