    Lads,

Has anyone managed to setup their Panny G10 TV so the DTT channel numbers start at 100 instead of 800?

Yes I am that bored right now! :)

I have a Panny G10L ( Irish model ) and I've tried almost every country on the available list of countries and the only one that gives all video/audio/full 7day epg is France, with channel numbers beginning at 800 for Rte1 etc. All other countries I've tried, had something missing, either video with no sound, or sound with no video, or sound and video but no epg, including Ireland, which gave me everything ok channel wise, but no 7 epg ! Does anyone know why a tv designed with Ireland in mind, having a mpeg4 tuner, doesn't show the epg ?

thanks for the info, had a feeling someone would have tried all that (I'm getting lazy in my old age). Using French setting as well since day 1.

If Panasonic were bothered, they could surely fix the EPG problems etc. with a firmware upgrade.

My TX-P50G10B UK Freesat model starts at 800, does any other Panasonic user here notice that TG4 defaults to mute due the Multi-Audio and you have to change the audio language to "iri" Irish using the Option button on the remote?

Yes but they arent. They will tell you that the TVs were manufactured for UK. And thats there justification for everything it seems (including not defining all the service types in the firmware for dvb-t).

LG seems to be the only ones that have complied to ETSI standard on Freesat Combo TVs. In other words the firmware is complete and stuff isnt turned off.

Panasonic are known for hobbling their equipment to only work properly in one country but I would expect an Irish model to work in Ireland. Have you spoken to Panasonic Ireland about this? Perhaps you should reject the TV back to the supplier and buy something else.

Panasonic make some of the best Plasma displays on the market so replacing it is not an option specially for the minute amount of RTE programming worth watching!

I'll have a look at contacting Panasonic Ireland although I've heard they are pretty unhelpful bunch and ultimately everything is decided by the Panasonic UK.

Is it safe at the moment to do a DTT rescan on a Panasonic Freesat tv.
I have the RTE channels at the moment so don't want to loose them like before when RTENL changed their settings.

I erased all my tuning information on Mullaghanish a few days ago when Digital Teletext disappeared due to the MHEG5 EPG upgrade and my TV retuned perfectly with no problems from Mullaghanish.

    I have a TX-P50G10B 50" Plasma UK Freesat Model.

However to be doubley sure it is best to back up your current tuning to an SD card just incase.

    To do this:

    1. Format an SD card on a PC.

Insert SD card into PC. Right-click on SD card in MyComputer, then select FORMAT and press OK.

    2. Set up hotel.pwd file on SD card.

Open MyComputer and double click on SD card (Removeable Disk). Go to Tools, Folder Options and select the VIEW tab. Then unclick the "Hide extensions for known file types" option and apply the change. Right click and select New and Text Document to create an empty text file. Name it "hotel.pwd" ( Note that there is no .txt file extension added because of option selected above). Remove SD card.

    3. Copy all channels from TV1 to SD card.

Turn on TV. Insert SD card. The process starts automatically. Enter the code 4850 when requested. The copy is made to the SD card. Remove the SD card.

    4. Copy channels from SD card to TV2.

Turn on TV. Insert SD card. The process starts automatically. Enter the code 4851 when requested. The copy is made to the TV.
Turn off the TV and then turn it on again. The channels are copied! There's no EPG info for the TV channels.

    Thanks for that,

Is there any additional services from RTENL i.e. test card or whatever. If not I may not scan for the time being, but backup the current channel lineup and wait.
