Don't even attempt to get under the car without axle stands.

I would put axle stands on the each side of the jacking points at the front of the car. I would not get under a car with a trolly jack only... Make sure car is on flat surface with hand brake on. You could put blocks in front & behind the back wheels to stop her rolling incase your hand brake popped..

I am always overly cautious getting under my car, I avoid it if I can. Lucky my oil sump nut is within reach without having to jack her up.

Axle stands are a must. For how to jack the car up, look in your manual for where the jack points are on your model.

Avoid getting under a car without axle stands unless you enjoy being turned into squash.

Get an oil extraction pump - then you dont need to raise the car at all. Service from start to finish only takes about half an hour

Jacking point all depend on the car - some have a central one and other have to be jacked from the side. As already mentioned, always use axle stands if climbing under the car.
