How can I dial a number from my land-line (Eircom) where the caller ID turns up private?

I know its something like #142# or summit like that.

    Thanks in advance! :)

    You misunderstand the question.

my landline does that on its own.

ring a mobile and it comes as private number.

ask eircom to do it for you.

Prefix 141 I think. Might be 142. I think you use one of those to show your number once off if you already have it permanently set to ex directory.

My sister's landline always shows up as a private number too. It was like that when she moved into the house.

Ah the classic first reply trying to put down the Op.. And you did it so fast you didn't even have time to use punctuation.. Or to read the question.

and it's #31# if you want to hide your called id from your mobile

Word of warning OP. As with private mobile calls, your number is almost certainly traceable if... eh... legal issues arise. So no heavy breathing.

Mick McCarthy's probably getting an earful of abuse as we speak.

To show / send your number from a "blocked" landline dial 142 followed by the number.
To block / hide your number from an "unblocked" landline dial 141 and then the number.

This works with my unblocked UPC line and my parents blocked UPC line.

Can you set it to a jingle that's easy to remember?

Line hijack...the new sensation...Line hijack the next generation

To go into stalker mode type 1, 4-ah-1
To stay out of stalker mode type 1-4-ah 2

To this tune I take it:

I don't know, working for years in customer care for a Telecom company and I could never answer these kind of questions

The number is still sent to the other person, it just has a flag to not display it.....

So with very little effort you can view the number......

    Edit:

And " 142 ", prefix will remove the flag on a line that has it set by default on the providers side.
