Getting an insurance quote with an open claim

    I had an accident in March 2009 where I rear ended someone. A learner driver pulled out in front and went to change gear and missed the clutch and hit the brake instead. I was left with no time to react however as I hit their car it was my fault.

    One of the passengers said she was injured two weeks later but has made no more calls to the insurance company since then. They have tried to contact her but she hasn't returned calls or provided any medical certs.

    Because of this the claim will stay open until March 2011.

    Me and the other driver have settled however this passenger is keeping the claim open making it impossible for me to get cheaper insurance quotes.

    Does anyone know if I can get the insurance company to do anything or if other companies will quote me (reasonable) prices?

    I've no points or convictions.
