Sorry - noob question - got a puncture on my Citroen C4 and got the AA out to change the wheel (:o) (hey, I pay them for it!) and they put the spare on which was a 195/65 R15.

    The other 3 are 205/55 R16.

AA man said no bother. Is this true or should I put the original back on asap when the puncture is repaired?

Yes replace the original or the car will handle like a greasy weasle.

ABS and Traction Control System problems most likely. Is your spare some sort of space saver? Also, not good the AA man appears to be a moron.

There is a 2.5 mm difference in circumference, which is negligible.

So speedo, ABS and differential should have no problem with it.
Handling however will be all over the place.

The tyre is fine as a spare to get you to the next tyre shop and get the other one fixed. Not a good idea to drive it for longer though

Proper size on as sonn as possible, some cars have this as their space saver option even though it is obviously better than the skinny bicycle wheel.
However it is supposed to be for temporary use only. surprised the wheel does not have a sticker on stating just that.

thanks for all your replies lads. I can't completely blame the AA man as my wife was talking to him so maybe he put it like "grand for now"..

    Cheers.
