Went to purchase a Studio 15 for the young one on Dell website earlier.
Got to checkout only to discover they don't take Laser, only Visa or Mastercard. As the oul credit card is shredded cos its maxed out i couldn't use it.
Then I rang to be put through to Dell India, an explain my predicament before getting transferred back to Dell Ireland where i was told i could do a Wire Transfer with him over phone.
Now the thing is I have no problem giving out my details online but I do over the phone.Am I alone like this or is there no need for concern as I know it was Dell I was dealing with because of details he relayed back to me that he couldn't have known.
My way of thinking is that if my information is abused after a transaction online at least some sort of trail back, whereas over the phone my details could go into cyberspace without anyway of proving it.
Would be interested to hear of similar experiences either positive or negative.
BTW Mods i apologise if in wrong thread please move if it is.

I wouldn't be overly concerned about giving your details out to a business via phone. Millions of transactions occured this way before the internet was ever used to order anything.

I'd be more worried about your neighbours listening in to old wireless landlines with radio scanners (CB-type things). Use your moby.

Helluvalot safer than cordless landlines that can be picked up by a baby monitor tuned to the right frequency.
