    Hello all,

I recently bought a 02 A4, which runs great, happy out as I previously owned a s*it Box!

Just a couple of questions if anyone else who owns one could help me out!

The radio, I notice that there is no visible aerial and my radio reception is not great kinda goes in and out which can be very frustrating, any ideas on what the problem is, and if there is one how can I get it fixed?

Also the fuel gauge meter on the front screen of the Dashboard I find it crazy that when I fill her up and she reads 650 miles or so, it can sometime drop 30 miles on the screen when you have only travelled 5, makes me think about all the cash I'm supposed to be saving on Diesel!!!! Is it just city driving that is doing that?

Any advice on both these problems would be great.

    Thanks

Aerial is built in to the car. Dont mind the mileage flucuation. Cars do it all the time if you park on a slope it will tell you that you have more or less.

The miles till empty is worked out on your average driving over the last while (can't remember if its 30mins or 30miles) i have it in the Bora and it's about as accurate as the weather forecast so i pay no heed to it.

E.G - if you are driving along a motorway on cruise control for the last 100 miles and then exit of it and check your miles till empty before driving through a city or large town the reading will be misleading as you won't get the economy you just got for the remainder of the tank.

Have the same motor....same year.....same issue!!:D I have a Sony head unit fitted and the reception is 5h1t....not that I listen to it anyway...but its one of those annoying little things! The old Concert unit worked perfectly....for a week after I bought it! Maybe take out the unit and check the antenna cable and socket for any damage such as scrapes?! I know of a place in Loughrea, Galway fixing those units and I can get mine done but right now 70 quid is more useful in other area's than fixing a radio!!:(
As for the fuel I wouldn't worry....it is frustrating but as long as the tank guage has the correct display we're ok!!;)

If you fit an aftermarket head unit you need an aerial amplifier as the original head unit powers the aerial.

    One of these.
