    Hey,
This probably seems like a bit of a non issue compared to some of the problems of others here so Ill be as short as I can.

Ive been seeing someone for a while now, recently we told eachother we loved one another and this was obviously fantastic, BUT a few days later after alot of drink was taken I was told that altough they loved me and wants a future with me they thought that things might not work out, basically because of the way I had acted that day, (not really important what I did, nothing major was basically just too drunk and emabarrsed them a little in front of their friends)

Now this was our 1st real fight as such and the next morning I asked what the future was and was told that we were not finished but that they had meant what they said in that if I continued to do as I had done in the future they couldn't continue with it.

We drew a line under it, and Things have been better then ever since. We really get on great and its the best relationship Ive been in, full stop!

However I have the obvious unease following the drunken "break up / conversation" I just really don't want to be hurt again.

Any opinions on this would be greatly appreciated, should I just attempt to forget it and move on, keeping in mind what was said or should I beat them to the punch and end it myself now without falling any further??

Thanks in advance for any replies

Forget it and move on. It was probably a once off, just prove to him/her that it was.

Actions speak louder than words. Just don't go getting so hammered again that you do anything to let yourself down. You need to stop beating yourself up about it, your OH certainly sounds like they have forgotten about it so just keep an eye on the old booze consumption in future and chalk it down as a learning experience...

Wow, that's a little bit of a headwrecker. So if you get drunk and embarrass yourself/her in the future then it's over?

I guess it depends on what it meant by going out for "a while", as in how long? And also the extent/nature of what went on when you were drunk? I certainly wouldn't feel comfortable about being given an ultimatum about my behaviour in public after only going out with them for a few months though. Only you know if she had a point.

Thats a little harsh OP. Everyone gets too drunk once n a while, tis not the end of the world. I don't think i'll like to be in a relationship where mistakes aren't allowed. Some things are deal breakers for relationships like cheating, violence but i personally wouldn't class getting drunk as one of them. Unless your getting drunk ALL the time!!!

Its sounds like you care about the person so don't break up unless you want to,theres no way to avoid pain in this life its just about how you deal with it when it comes. This may not be an issue for you guys again but if its on your mind maybe you should talk to them and explain your fears.

I'd be of this opinion also.
If he were embarrassed by your drunken actions then fair enough but to go so far as to say it would be over if you ever behaved in such a way again is a tad controlling for my liking.

one little mistake and its either dont do it again or you guys are broken up??

    Thats a bit much!!!

personally, id probably do it again, but worse this time, just to annoy them and them dump em :p

I do think he is being waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too harsh on ya. He could have just said to you the next day if you remembered doing whatever it was, and just say that you were v drunk and we was a lil morto and thats that. you would check yourself when u were out drinkin again.

Kinda depends a little on what you did, which there are no details of.

If it was sth silly and embarrassing that anyone could do when they have had a few drinks, then that reaction is over the top and Id be thinking about whether you have a future with him as opposed t the other way around...and Id say that to him

If it was something where an aspect of your personality came out after a few drinks that he might not like then there could be more of a reason for him to react a bit that way...i.e. if by embarrassed them a little you flirted too much...or to take it to an extreme suggested a sex game or sth! Then maybe I could understand why he feels that way. So the devil is in the detail you left out imo.

Very harsh reaction to a bit of drink.
