Kildare Route Project

    Does anybody know when the Kildare Route project is opening, i.e. the 4 tracking to Hazlehatch.
    Seems to be stalled recently.

    Apparently, IE need to do some trackwork on the existing twin track, before full commissioing of the 4 track service. They also cite reductions in demand due to the recession for a slow down in the delivery...

    The original lines are being relaid currently, one by one, and this work will be ongoing for the rest of the year.

    The project is due to complete by the end of the year.

    At that stage a recast timetable, allowing for overtaking of trains can be introduced, although until the additional railcars currently on order are delivered and commissioned next year there won't be any extra trains.
