I'm looking for relatively easy hikes/walks that are accesible by public transport around Dublin (we don't have any cars). I'm trying to introduce some friends that have spent too much of their lives in front of computers to the outdoors.:p Howth is the only one that I know of that's around Dublin. None of them have hiking boots.

    Any ideas? Thanks!:)

If you pick up a map for Wicklow, OS sheet 56. There are plenty of forest tracks to follow plus some mountains trails have laid boardwalks. There are buses to Glendalough, St.Kevin's bus leaves from Dawson Street, http://www.glendaloughbus.com/. Also buses go to Enniskerry, No.44, which is a good starting point for easy hikes. If you get enough interest why not rent a car.
The Wicklow Way is also a well marked route that's easy underfoot.
The OSI website is handy, www.osi.ie, also they an interactive mapviewer, http://ims0.osiemaps.ie/website/publicviewer/main.aspx#V1,600000,750000,0
Also Coillte do a serious of marked routes, they're on their site, http://www.coillteoutdoors.ie/.

Hope this helps in some way and gives you extra ideas of where to go.

Thanks. Have sheet 56. Been on hikes around there a few times with other but have always gone by car and after having a look at the bus prices I'll leave Glendalough til we get our licences sorted out. (We're poor students.:p) The Coillte site has a few ones that we should be able to get to.

    Thanks again

Another walk you could try is the cliff walk from Bray to Greystones, very nice easy walk and its very handy to get to with the Dart.
