Applying second time for same job, same company...?

    Hi folks,
Just looking for a wee bit of advice on this-I applied for a job about a year ago, got to interview stage, and didn't get it.

A similar job has been advertised by them again, same company, same contact in the company to apply to....I'm in two minds as to whether to apply for it, seeing as they've already deemed me not quite right for the first role, but another part of me figures it can't hurt to try!

Anyone out there with an employer/hiring/general perspective on this, is it worth my applying again, or am I just wasting their time as well as mine?
Thanks in advance for any opinions/advice given...

    Definately apply!
    Won't do you any harm.

Or call hr if you have there number. Tell them you did interview for them already.

    Apply!!

I applied for the same job three times in two years. Twice I was given a rejection letter, and the last time I got to interview stage. Unfortunatly, I didn't get the job, but I was more experienced and trained by the time of the interview so I would say it's defo worth given it a go :)

    Good luck.

I agree, I would definitely give 2nd thought to someone who showed initiative by applying a 2nd time. It shows you are interested in the company as well as the job, and you have rapport built from the previous interview too so you'll have a better chance of getting the job now..

Definately apply!.. and remember they didn't find you not suitable for the job previously they just found someone more suited.. there's a big difference.

Ah OP, let my tell my story.
I'm in my current job four years (check the username ;)) and I applied directly.
Got a PFO email swiftly back!

3 weeks later I applied through an agency and got the job??
HR could have saved themselves thousands if they gave me the job the first time.

So you should apply for sure
