Handbrake and VLC

Hi All Having problems putting DVDs through handbrake for itunes to synch to apple tv and ipad. i run handbrake and it tells me that its a 64bit app and that VLC is only 32bit therefore it cant do the transfer. Any ideas how to get around this??

Try the older 1.0.2 build of VLC which is 64 bit. There's no up to date version because of bugs and lack of developers.

If you extract the VOB files first to a folder on your machine that error does not appear.
