    Hey guys ,

not sure if im posting in the the right place or not , bascially this morning filled up my car with petrol as usual every monday morning going to work , at a maxol garage , car was running fine before this , drove from drogheda to swords and dropped somebody off , leaving swords my car started chucking while i was accelerating like it was loosing power for a second then went back to normal , then when sitting at lights i could feel the engine chuckling slightly then upon take off would do the same little chukle and back to normal , thought it might be dirty fuel , but i always get my petrol at the same garage and never had a problem , anyone got any ideas on what the prob might be .. ???? thanks

Sounds stupid but was it definitely petrol you put in?

What kind of car is it?

As it was a Maxol garage, is it possible that you put E85 into the car rather than unleaded? If so, it's not a big deal, it just won't run very well. How much was in the tank before you filled it up and how much did you put in? Worst case is you'll need to get the tank partially drained and top up with unleaded.

Now if you put diesel in, then all bets are off, you may have destroyed the engine, but the diesel nozzle doesn't fit into the neck of the fuel tank on petrol cars.

the tank had about 1/4 left in it , and filled it right up .. but in the maxol i go to , they only have two lines . the disel and unleaded line ...

Any problems may be unrelated to the fuel then.

We could sh1te on here for hours suggesting what it could be, but your best bet is to bring it to someone who can give it a quick look. It could be as simple as a dirty plug.
