    Hi Guys
Doing best many for my buddy in a couple of weeks. On way to stah in Doolin I want to have a round of golf with hi. 50E is our max budget each. Any suggestions? Our dream courses would be Lahinch and Donbeg but I rang Lahinch and thier best was a hundred and that was after 4 pm!

50 euro wont get you in the door anywhere in west clare..

for that sort of price try somewhere around ennis - ennis gc, woodstock
east clare gc and dromoland prob in the price bracket as well
    the latter 2 are about a 1 hr + drive though e/w

If you can stretch to €60 Lahinch has open singles every Thursday.

If it's a Stag Weekend I'm sure you won't be too worried if it's not a top class resort, I presume you'll just want to hit a few balls and take up a few hours so I'd recommend Spanish Point. Not the longest course in the world and it's only 9 holes, it's also not expensive, I did a quick google there and couldn't find a website, it's not far from Doolin either.

Down the coast you have Kilrush and Kilkee as well, I like Kilkee for some reason, it's a nice links course, I went there for my brother's stag (I was best man).

agree with clareman there for the most part

spanish point is prob a 20 min drive from doolin
very compact - maybe 3/4 decent holes

kilkee could not be considered a links course
in fact most of it is a complete borefest - up/down the same field for around 4/5/6 holes
kilrush is a better alternative, altho once again i dont think i'd be cancelling some stag drinking time for it

Played Shannon Golf Club a few times. Excellent course-really, really surprized me. Pretty sure they would do a deal for a group of people.

    Took this from their website...

I've always played well in Kilkee, might be something to do with the fact that it's not very challenging, even almost had a hole in 1 on a par 4 there.

If you aren't all golfers and are just looking to kill a couple of hours to keep everyone occupied, Spanish Point will be spot on, not too far either, if you want to get golfing and aren't worried about driving for an hour you have a lot of options.

Within an hour (ish) of Doolin you'll have
Spanish Point Lahinch (2 courses) Kilrush Kilkee Woodstock Ennis Dromoland Shannon East Clare (better drive fast :)) Gort Athenry (see East Clare) Other courses in south Galway

IMVHO I wouldn't bother golfing on a stag unless everyone is into it, it's hassle to bring clubs, hangovers aren't pleasant, you have to travel, I would recommend booking yourself into a surfing lesson session (see the Denny ad :))
