Yeah cos a knife is a great weapon against a submachine gun. Get a credible source to show that the picture was cropped. How do we know this guy didn't change the picture?

    http://blogs.reuters.com/gbu/2010/06/07/cropped-photos/:rolleyes:

Reuters also gave a very flimsy excuse/explanation to their "mistake"......they have put their integrity as a credible source in jeopardy, in my honest opinion.

I'll see your cropped photos and raise you photos of the seized weapons (but actually from a few years ago, mind you).

The Gaza Flotilla: How Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Fakes Photos of Seized Weapons

Fact is the propaganda is drowning out the actuality and this suits Israel mostly. Why else would the Israelis take all the recording equipment and only use a tiny edited portion in their dispatches? Allegedly smuggled guns were seized and soldiers shot, yet no weapons or casings have been actually revealed. Oh what a lovely infowar!

That's exactly what I have a problem with, regardless of who it suits. I remember seeing a photo of the Pyramids in Giza a few years after I had visited there and the positioning of the pyramids gave the impression that they were much closer than they actually are....it drives me absolutely nuts that even a photo of an event/story can't even be trusted...the ethics of journalism has gone to muck!!

That was the cover of the National Geographic. It's not a great example though as it wasn't done for propanganda or ethical purposes, just a practical one: they wouldn't fit at all well, as the cover is portrait not landscape in orientation.

In the recent events, sure there has been mispresentation for political purposes by both 'sides'. Happens all the time and most can be fairly easily detected. It's the ones that aren't being released which would tell the most truthful account of the events, but Israel have seized all those and not shown them so they can get maximum control of the infospace and the 'truth'.
