    Hey there,

The old HP deskjet gave up the ghost yesterday so Im in the market for a good inkjet printer.

The Canon ip4500 has caught my interests. Its mainly going to be used for printing graphics and pictures for cards, craft work kind of stuff for a family member. Im lucky to have a great old HP Laserjet 4 for document duties so this new inkjet can lean towards graphic quality.

Does anyone know where I can find one of these in Dublin? Peats and PC World dont have it on their sites.

Any recommendations would be great too.

    Thanks all

    BBK,

I'm in the market for something similar. My requirement is for office use but more high quality low volume presentations and marketing/information sheets than high volume documents.

I was thinking about this particular model http://shop.kodak.co.uk/store/ekconseu/en_GB/pd/productID.170164400

    Comments anyone?

    Ben

Canons tend to drink ink good quality expensive to run, Epsons would be my recommendation a decent ballance between cost and quality printing

Are you guys specifically looking for an inkjet?

Would ye consider a laser printer? These can be pretty high quality and also print a lot faster than inkjet. While they are expensive initially, the cost per page is a lot less than inkjet.

I have a Canon LBP5050N on the way too me. It's a nice Colour Laser with a built in print server (for sharing with others).

Always used epsons and cant fault them, the origional inks are very dear but fortunately the compatable inks (which work to the same standard) are cheap :) . Look at www.justmedia.ie, www.inkjet.ie and see how much ink costs for the printer you intend on getting, the cheapo lexmark printers may seem like good value at the time, until you need to get replacement ink!

Lexmark x4650 is a brilliant inkjet printer, wifi enabled also.

Regarding the LBP5050n ,ya it's a nice printer but MY GOD Canon seriously need to do something with the drivers for mac. Can't get it going on the network because of the stupid CAPT driver

HP do grand for me. Lexmark are a cod, absolutely eats through the ink, and the ink's really expensive. i've got two HP printers (one for college and home) and they're great. cheap enough too, especially since i got mine in PC world ages ago.
don't have any experience with canon or epson so no comment on them but don't go with lexmark, whatever you do.

Hi TechGuy, that Canon looks very good value but I need something which can also scan and print on both sides of the paper. The Kodak ESP 6150 (http://store.kodak.com/store/ekconsus/en_US/pd/ESP_Office_6150_All-in-One_Printer/productID.169976400) is a new generation multi finction printer which has a much lower cost per page than the previous generation. As I'm not going to use it for high volume I think it's the best match for my needs on the market unless you can point me in the direction of a multi finction version of the Canon laser you referred to??

I'm in the market for home use- multi-functional is best suited. Any recommendations with good value toner. Lexmark is cleaning me out.

I have not had a lot of luck with printers:

Lexmark - found these to be a rip-off on ink
Canon (i550x)- reasonable, but just died for no reason
Epson (sx415) - seemed okay, but would just not recognise the first set of new cartridges. Epson support didn't want to know.

Originally, I used to do some photo printing on high-grade paper, etc but now find it better to just buy prints on the web.

Can anyone recommend a printer just for gereral household colour printing:
    - Reasonable initial price
    - Reasonable ink replacement costs

    Thanks
