it'll be available online at rte.ie or you can watch it on www.eurovisionsports.tv which will have an excellent HD stream for selected games as well as being able to watch the coverage from other EBU broadcasters.

RTÉ Online is streaming it, including the 8 games which won't be on RTÉ Two (the simultanious kick offs for the last day of the group stages).

If I see or hear one word about any unofficial streams this thread will be closed.

Go to the Soccer board on match days for all the links you could possibly need.

that should only be the case if you're outside the EBU.

Should mention, at the Eurovision website you are allowed view streams from every country's TV coverage EXCEPT your own! I'm not sure why this should be the case, except perhaps to ensure people see the advertising on the websites of their own PSB.

Really between RTÉ Online and Eurovision providing official streaming, there is no excuse for anyone to be watching an illegal stream of this tournament.

So I was looking at the RTE live (internet) tv schedule today and it goes as follows:
    15:00
    World Cup 2010
Live coverage of the opening game of the 2010 FIFA World Cup as hosts South Africa take on Mexico at Soccer City Stadium in Johannesburg. Kickoff at 3.00pm
    02:35:00 ROI Only

    15:30
    The Great Escape
Four part series following families who have left Ireland for a new life abroad
    01:10:00
Which worries me! Is it only going to show the first 30 mins??

If so is there anywhere else I can watch it?
    Cheers

Do you have urls to these working? I don't seem to be able to get them to work

They regularly show multiple things online at the same time.

It is. Have you checked out the website?

I think he meant that in a tongue in cheek way, with "eurovision" normally being associated with a sub-standard music competition... :D

I'm in Germany and I've tried using this site to watch RTE's coverage but it doesn't work. Anyone know why or any other way to get RTE's coverage?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 412 ✭✭An Tarbh

you can only watch the RTÉ coverage if the country's coverage that you're in is also available on the website, so no French, German or British viewers can access RTÉ. Don't think there's any other way of accessing it, legally that is.

Last night ITV HD managed to completely screw up as they went to an accidental ad break in the England game, missing Gerrards goal. How do they do it?

    BBC article

and the goal as it happened on ITV HD

Someone should just take the licence from them. I mean the licence to broadcast anything.

They were terrible with Formula 1 as well. Ads every few minutes often missing key action. BBC have done such a great job with F1, they show classic races and thurs/fri practice on the red button, their coverage is very comprehensive on both race days and not an ad in sight.

Guys, can we maybe keep all the World Cup discussion to the one thread. Feel free to talk about all matters to do with the broadcasting of the tournament in this thread. Of course, talking about the actual football is not allowed (you can do that over in Soccer).

I thought my post was about how inept ITV was, nothing to do with World Cup per se.

Didn't they do this a couple of years ago with another game?
