Help connecting Lap top to LGM227WD please

    Hi,

I have an alienware with HDMI and VGA outputs. I have a LG M227WD with HDMI input / output and RBG input / output but I cannot for the life of me get the lap top to display on the TV.

I think the Lap top recognises that when I plug in the HDMI there is a second monitor and I have programmed it to "exted these displays" but nothing.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Press fn plus f5,6,7,8, eg fn plus another function key, set resolution to 1024x768.Read tv manual,re pc input resolution.Set refresh rate to 60mhz on pc.
SEE www.svideo.com pc to tv hdmi.

    Thanks for the reply.

All the FN/F6 does is show a message in the middle of the screen saying "LCD" over a picture of a telly.

I have the manual for the TV but it doesn't elaborate on the process at all.

I checked out that site, all it tells us is that it sells various cables, I have the HDMI cable.

    Thanks anyway.

Go into the ATI/nVidia control panel and instruct it to display as you want it to.

Hi, thanks for that, but I tried it and it is not detecting the TV (even when it forces detection on start up). I now understand that there is a general HDMI connection issue with PCs to this particular TV and the HDMI connection is actually for games consols. Im told to use the DVI instead so I'll see how that goes.

    Cheers.
