Hi, have booked a holiday, flying from Derry but can't seem to find any online insurance providers that will let me buy insurance as I'm a resident of the republic but not flying out from here. Has anyone any recommendations on any sites where i can get some? Thanks.

That seems odd. I have annual worldwide travel insurance (I've had a few trips to Oz and the US over the past few years) and I'm fairly sure it's never said anything about where my flights originated. Are you planning on any other trips this year? Then buying the worldwide or european insurance might be an option. I got mine through www.ebookers.ie haven't had to claim yet so can't say whether or not they're any good.
