I only bought one there a few weeks ago. The consoles have some similar games, like all the guitar hero games. Wii also has a few Call of Duty games, which I havent played but apparently they're crap except for the latest one.

IF you've never had a Wii before, you'll get some use out of the Wii sports. But its not really a single player console. Anyone i know that has one uses it for when they have a few mates over havin a few beers.

Some people love the Wii, some people hate it.

If you think you'll play Zelda and Mario galaxy then go for it. Then when you're sick of them, get The Conduit and Resident Evil 4. Theres a few single player games alright that are good, but not as much as on the 360.

Also, I havent heard anything about Nintendo replacing it. In fact, I seem to recall them saying they're gonna try stretch the Wii out for like 10 years or something!

Lots of life left in it if you ask me - especially now that the online is much better and there's games supporting it.

Call of Duty:Reflex Edition (CoD4) is brilliant online - I've put at least 60 hours into that online and haven't finished the single player part yet.
Can't imagine I'll get sick of it at all for another while yet as well.

Pro Evo Soccer 2010 is the best game of soccer on any system.
Sure the graphics aren't as good as 360/ps3 but those other versions don't allow you to control loads of different players at once like the Wii one does.
It's far harder to master than any soccer game you've come across but if you do, you'll be directing guys on dummy runs to draw defenders away from a space you can bring another striker though while you're holding up the ball with your midfield. The most satisfying thing in the world is getting a goal after a strategic play like that :).

Tiger Woods golf 2010 - best golf game on any system too.

Sure there's loads of party games but they are at least the best ones in a party situation - Boom Blox, Wii Sports Resort, the list goes on.

As for what's not out yet; Metroid: Other M looks amazing fun, Mario Galaxy 2 is nearly here and looks like a must-have, Sin and Punishment: Star Successor looks hectic, Conduit 2 - if they fix the cheating online then it'll rock....there's a lot to look forward to and that's not even taking the wii-ware and old games you can download into account.

I'm looking forward to E3 when there might be some news on Wii Pilotwings/StarFox/Pikmin.

Yes I believe the wii is worth getting.
Personally I enjoy getting consoles near the end of their lifespan. I mean the software and hardware and cheaper and a massive selection of the games throughout it's lifespan.

Besides that though I think the wii has another 2 years left in it at most. Do yourself a favour and wait until after this month, or after the gaming event e3. They May annouce a new version of the wii then you never know :)

If you are just interested in putting effort into finding good Wii games then it's not worth it. However contrary to popular belief the Wii actually has a a lot of must have games on it that give a different experience to anything on the PS3 and 360. You've just got to be willing to find it. Sure there are the Mario, Smash Bros and Zelda games but there's also fantastic Wii games like:

    Little Kings Story
    A Boy and his Blob
    No More Heroes 1 + 2
    Sin and Punishment 2
    De Blob
    Boom Blox
    Opoona
    Endless Ocean 1 and 2
    House of the Dead Overkill
    Dead Space Extraction
    Fire Emblem
    Madworld
    Punchout
    Tatsunoku vs. Capcom
    Zack and Wiki
    World of Goo
    Toki Tori
    Cave Story
    Contra Rebirth
    Lost Winds 1 and 2
    Klonoa
    Muramasa Demons Sword
    Trauma Team
    Silent Hill Shattered Memories

All of those games are as good as anything available on the 360/PS3. Of course if you just want to play CoD, GTA and Fifa it's not for you.
Even if the Wii is to be replaced soon there's plenty there to keep you going for a long time.

It annoys me that the Wii is labeled as the "casual/kids machine" theres plenty of games on it to suggest otherwise. throw in the GC compatibility and virutal console and its well worth owning one.

plus you get to play Super Mario Galaxy 2, which is currently towering above anything else available on the 360/PS3 worth playing. Yeah, its that good.

That's because when you walk into any games store the Wii section IS dominated by games that LOOK to cater more for kids & the casual player.
