For our studied story and poems question, do we have to include quotes from the text? Will we lose marks if we don't?

I'm just writing them up now & would like to know. If anyone has any idea please tell me! :p

I think it's better to have them! Definitely in the poetry anyways I got full marks for my poetry and story question but only had quotes in the poetry one so I'm not sure...

We were told it doesnt make a difference, if you quote and write about it you'll get your marks but I think if you just write about the poem in general you will too!
I think I quoted one or two words for my poem and none for my pro and I got 13/15 in each so take what you want from that I guess!

It isn't essential. I didn't in the Mock and I received full marks in those two questions. For the poetry, I'm planning to know a few important lines, because then you can further your point and speak of it.
With regards to the Prós, just make sure to make reference to the events which happen throughout the story.
In the case of "Spás" the short story, for the Fearg theme, you would just need to speak of it in reference to the scéal.
Mar Shampla: Tá fearg an domhain uirthi anois faoi a shaol atá aici. Then elaborate on the point, by telling the story. Aim for an A4 and space it nicely ;):P

    Hey
dunno if this is the right place but anyways...
just wondering if anyone knows how long your answers on the studied poetry and stories questions should be.. roughly? I know its quality and not quantity but any guidelines? Teacher says about 1.5 to 2 pages but I think its a bit too long in like 15mins and shes not always be that accurate so.. anyone know?
    Thanks:)

Your teacher is not right at all!

    1/2 - 3/4 of an A4 page is ideal!

If you're able to write out that much then I don't see any reason why not!
My answers usually end up around the page and a half / 2 pages area anyways. But that's including leaving space for quotes and paragraphs...

There is no need to quote for the Prós question, but I think you should quote for the filíocht question, just to be sure. Although, it's up to you, and you'll probably do it the way your teacher has done it with you all along.

There is no need to write anything more than a page as it would be a waste of time. In my Summer Test, I wrote half a page for my filíocht question and three-quarters of a page for my prós question.
