Got myself an iPad with a uk 02 sim. Just got myself an Irish vodafone sim and was gonna use the o2 sim as a template to cut out the vodafone sim but the metal contacts are much bigger on the vodafone sim. Will it work if I cut in to the metal on the vodafone sim?

I would say not. Best wait until Voodoo Ireland release them soon.

i'd say you can, ray foley was on about it during the week on the radio, and he did it himself, and posted on twitter, so it can be done
Just chopped the **** out of a vodafone bb sim card to make my own mini sim... ****ed it up a bit but corrected... Working like a charm now.

You can cut to size. Metal part is the same size.

Worked fine for me. Just be sure not to cut the metal bit and it should be grand.

I beg to differ chrislad. The vodafone sim I have definately has a bigger metal part than the o2 microsim. The seem to split in to different sections so maybe the extra bit on the vodafone one is redundant. But in saying that the outer part of the vodafones metal part comes to the edge of the plastic bit on the microsim

You have an older sim then. The newer 'big' sims have the same metal piece as the microsims.

Has anyone managed to cut a vodafone sim in to a microsim? I'm pretty sure I did it right this time but it still won't recognize it.
    Any help appreciated!
